Former US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, announced on April 12, 2015 that she will be running for president in the 2016 election, and if elected, she would become the first female president in US history.

For democrats, there is much to be excited about in her campaign. She has the potential to be a great president who could really turn this country around and address the many issues the USA faces today.

If elected, Hillary Clinton would become the first female president. This would be a step in women being fully included in politics, and could really rush in a wave of female politicians.

“She has an opportunity to continue to build on what (Barack Obama) has done, and another fantastic step on that ladder is the possibility of the first woman president of the United States,” said Tracy Sefl, who advised the Clinton campaign on communications strategy in 2008. “The possibility of a woman president is a welcome one, more so than is a foreign one.”

Many people only think we would elect her because she is a woman. But being the former US Secretary of State, and the former First Lady of the United States, she definitely has experience in the field of politics and based on her experience, she has the potential to be a great candidate.

Bill Clinton, her husband and former President of the United States, was a strong president for eight years and is sure to back Hillary up in her campaign.

Although she has received criticisms for having a personal email account rather than using her State Department email, she is sure to turn it around and rise above her weaknesses when she begins campaigning.

“Every day Americans need a champion. And I want to be that champion,” Mrs. Clinton said. “So I’m hitting the road to earn your vote — because it’s your time. And I hope you’ll join me on this journey.” Since she has started campaigning, she seems to have a lot more confidence in herself and in her message for female empowerment.

Even if Clinton is elected, the challenges of pay inequality, sexual harassment, and human trafficking are ones that cannot be solved by one person alone. She would need the support of the American people as well. The issues of women around the world are her life’s work, and if she is elected as President, she could really address these issues further.

Mrs. Clinton is one of the strongest candidates we have seen so far. Clinton has a lot more experience in the field of politics than some of the other candidates.

Many people have criticized her campaign and don’t believe she could be a good president, but Hillary Clinton is a tough person who will not shy away from criticisms and attacks from her fellow candidates.

If Hillary Clinton puts together a compelling campaign and continues to promote herself and her message for equality, she could be unbeatable in the Democratic primaries, as well as in the general election, and be a great president.
