IHA 2020 alumna Allie Sandt released her first single on January 16th, 2021. The song “Nothing Reminds me” has the same great bass rhythm as a Billie Eilish song, with the harmonies of a Fleetwood Mac album, all of which Allie wrote, sang, and edited together herself. It is available on all music streaming platforms. Within less than a few weeks, her song has gained over one thousand streams! 

While at IHA, Allie was heavily involved in all of the many music and theater arts programs the school has to offer. She was one of the International Thespian Honor Society’s presidents, and an active member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Allie was the president of Praise, the liturgical choir,  and Voices, the select choir, as well as being the school’s canter for masses. She was also a dedicated member in the orchestra, often helping other students learn how to play one of the many instruments she herself was experienced with. Allie showcased her musical talents in and out of school with her band, Sonny and the Sharks, which regularly performed at local restaurants as well as the Senior Class Talent Show.

When asked to comment on her process writing and producing her song, Allie stated, “This was definitely the most interesting way I’ve ever written a song: I found an ad on Instagram for a virtual Winter Songwriting program over Zoom in which you were paired up with another random college student and challenged to write and record a song together in just two hours. Through this process I met Tommy Pallai, a Fordham University student and producer from Long Island who helped develop my acoustic demo of “Nothing Reminds Me” into the pop song it is now! After the two hours of working non stop that Sunday in December, we had half of a song and decided to finish it through Zoom sessions and emailing back and forth for the next two weeks: it was completely from scratch and I am so excited for everyone to listen.”
