New to Netflix

The arrival of the new year means the arrival of new television shows and movies. January 1st of 2020 was an important day for Netflix subscribers. It was the day that many fan-favorite shows were removed from the site. Friends and The Office were amongst two of the most popular. However, Netflix has a wide range of content they are going to introduce this year. Some of which are Netflix originals and others are from different streaming services.

On January 1st, many classics came to Netflix such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and A Cinderella Story. Later in the month, season 6 of Grace and Frankie will be available to American viewers. Also, many of the Lord of the Rings movies will appear on the site.

“What will you watch this month on Netflix” https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/

February looks just as promising for Netflix. There will be many things for IHA students to watch over their February break. To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (AKA the second movie in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before series) will definitely be a popular selection. The series’ first movie amassed over 80 million views, most of which were teenage girls. The first movie also got an astonishing 97% on Rotten Tomatoes. Season two of Narcos: Mexico will also be on Netflix in the month of February.

Personally, I have been frustrated with the selection of movies and TV shows Netflix has had to offer. Friends, One Tree Hill, and Friday Night Lights were three of my favorite shows, and now they are all gone from the platform. Hopefully, this year Netflix will broaden its selection of television shows and movies because, as of right now, I am more using Hulu more frequently.
