Your Guide to the Best Christmas Albums

If you are anything like me, you have probably been blasting Christmas music since Halloween. The music has to be one of the best parts of Christmas as its joyful melodies can easily put you into the spirit. It serves as the perfect background music while you decorate your Christmas tree, bake holiday cookies, wrap presents, or are just on your morning commute to school. The multitude of options when picking Christmas music can be overwhelming, so here is a guide to the best Christmas albums.

  1. Christmas and Chill by Ariana Grande

        Christmas and Chill was released in December 2015 and includes an intro plus a total of six songs: Santa Tell Me, Winter Things, True Love, Not Just On Christmas, December, and Wit It This Christmas. Unlike most holiday albums, Ariana’s is not extremely peppy and cheerful. Instead, her songs include an R&B, Soul, and Trap sound. This album is perfect to listen to while sitting by the fireplace.

  1. Under the Mistletoe by Justin Bieber

        Under the Mistletoe was released in November 2011 and was the first and only Christmas album recorded by Justin Bieber. The album is a total of eleven songs including covers of classics, and some of Justin’s originals. The most popular song on the album would have to be Mistletoe. The song reached the top 10 in Canada, Denmark, and Norway and was ranked 11 in the United States.  Under the Mistletoe is an album made for all moods and anyone could enjoy the album easily.

 

  1. Merry Christmas II You by Mariah Carey

Merry Christmas II You was released in November 2010 and was the second Christmas Album released by Mariah Carey. The album consists of an intro and twelve other songs. The most popular song being, All I Want For Christmas Is You. The song reached the top 10 in over ten countries and became an iconic song for Christmas time. If you haven’t heard it yet, you are bound to hear it on the radio, in the mall, or in a store. Overall, Merry Christmas II You will get you in the holiday spirit.

 

  1. Wrapped in Red by Kelly Clarkson

Wrapped in Red was released in October 2013 and is the American Idol star’s sixth album. It consists of 16 songs including 5 original songs and 11 covers. The classics like Baby, It’s Cold Outside and Run Run Rudolph can be sung along by anyone. However, the most popular song on the album is Underneath the Tree: an original written by Clarkson. The song is upbeat and catchy and perfect to dance to at any holiday party. Overall, the cheerful album has something on it for everyone.

 

         Christmas is on its way, and your playlists will not be complete without these songs. All four albums are available on Apple Music and Spotify, so start listening!
