What’s In Store For December Entertainment?

Are you looking for some December entertainment options? Well, you’re in luck because you will find everything you need here. Whether you enjoy reading books from your favorite author, watching entertaining movies, or catching up on your favorite TV shows, entertainment is a large part of our daily lives. It’s the month of carolers, hot chocolate, and candy canes.  Christmas is already almost here! Below are some fantastic forms of entertainment to look out for this December.

Books:

Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield

An injured stranger bursts in through the doors of an ancient inn on the River Thames. He’s holding a girl who isn’t breathing. Hours later, the girl comes back to life. Is it a miracle, magic, or science? No one knows.

Release Date: December 4th

 

Queen of Air and Darkness (The Dark Artifices #3) by Cassandra Clare  

This is the final novel in USA Today’s best selling trilogy. The books are part of Clare’s Shadowhunter Novels, which many people both know and love. Start the additions before this one, or dive into The Dark Artifices, you’re guaranteed an adventure. Follow Emma and Julian undertake a dangerous journey to save the Shadowhunters before the parabatai curse destroys them all.

Release Date: December 4th

 

Television Shows:

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Season Two of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, will be released on December 5th on Amazon Prime. This show follows a woman in the 1950s who is living on New York’s Upper West side with her family and soon discovers her talent for stand-up comedy. This series was created by Amy Sherman Palladino, known for being the creator of Gilmore Girls.

 

Elseworlds (Arrowverse)

If you love and watch Supergirl, Arrow, and The Flash, you’re in luck! For the fifth annual year, the three shows are having three-day crossover episodes. On December 9th, The Flash begins the event, followed by Arrow on the 10th, and Supergirl concluding it on the 11th. Batwoman and Lois Lane will be introduced when Green Arrow, Supergirl, and Flash depart to Gotham City to face Dr. John Deegan.

 

Movies:

Mary Poppins Returns

Starring Emily Blunt, Mary Poppins returns to London during the depression era to visit Jane and Michael as adults so they could rediscover the joy of life. This is another continuation of a classic. I’m not sure how it will turn out, but I sure am excited.

Release Date: December 19th

 

On the Basis of Sex

Coinciding with lawyer Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s 25th anniversary of being on the Supreme Court, this movie depicts the struggles of gender discrimination and how she presents this case before the Supreme Court alongside her husband, Martin.

Release Date:  December 25th

 

Hallmark Movies

If you’re looking for some calm, easy movies with a romance story during the Christmas season, check out the Hallmark channel. Discover some old movies from years ago, or catch a new one on TV right now! They premiere 24/7 until after the new year. Christmas Classics

These may not be new to you, but they still ring in the Christmas spirit. Some of my favorites are Home Alone, A Christmas Story, Elf, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, A Charlie Brown Christmas, A Nightmare Before Christmas, The Grinch (Live action and the cartoon), The Polar Express, While You Were Sleeping, Miracle on 34th Street, The Holiday, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, A Year Without Santa Claus, and Eloise at Christmastime.
