It’s official! Prince Harry and American actress, Meghan Markle, are engaged!

While Prince Charles made the couple’s engagement public from Clarence
House, his official residency, on November 27, 2017, they actually got engaged
earlier this month at Nottingham Cottage, Kensington Palace, London.

On the night of their engagement, the two were having a casual night in their
cottage.

“What were we doing?” Markle asked her fiancé in an interview with the
Associated Press.

“Just trying to roast a chick and, uh, just an amazing surprise. It was so sweet,
and natural, and very romantic… He got on one knee,” she continued.
In fact, Markle would not even let Prince Harry finish proposing before she
could say yes.

“I was like, ‘Can I, can I give you the ring?’” Prince Harry laughed.

The family members have all been informed of the engagement, and Prince
Harry even asked Markle’s parents for their blessing in the marriage.

The couple’s relationship began in the summer of 2016 through a mutual
friend. They went on one date, hit it off, and scheduled for another one. A few weeks
later, Markle was persuaded by Prince Harry to travel to Botswana on a camping
trip under the stars. They ultimately hit it off.

The two are expected to be named the duke and duchess of Sussex when they
are married. Markle will be known informally as Princess Meghan. The queen has
reserved the dukedom of Sussex for Prince Harry specifically.
As for the wedding itself, Clarence House states, “The wedding will take place
in Spring 2018.” However, further details about the wedding will be released in the
future.
