Pop-Culture Costumes to Try on Halloween

Halloween is a fun time to dress up as something or someone else for a day. Whether you are wearing an individual or group costume, creativity is always the key. Here are some interesting costume ideas for this upcoming Halloween!

Many costumes ideas come from pop culture, such as movies, books, or events that recently occurred. For instance, with the recent release of the movie It, Pennywise, the clown antagonist, might be a popular costume. Others might feel “super” in their Wonder Woman costumes from the DC superhero movie that came out last summer.

With the return of Riverdale, the main characters of the show, Betty, Veronica, Archie, Jughead, and Cheryl, could be a great group costume. The costume would be a success even in pairs of the characters.

One could also throw it back to older, but classic, teen movies, such as Mean Girls or Clueless. For Mean Girls, one could dress up as the characters in their Wednesday pink outfits, or even sport their festive Christmas outfits.

Characters from the TV show SpongeBob Squarepants are another quick and easy idea for last minute costumes if unsure what to do. Many people dress up as buddies SpongeBob or Patrick, but a larger group is another great idea. One could even take it to a different level and grab a partner to dress up as Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.

Mario Kart characters are another fun idea. Although it is not the most original idea, it could be made more unique and creative by the characters used and the types of costumes created.
