Seniors Dance the Night Away at Prom

On Friday, May 5th, IHA seniors traded in their kilts for gorgeous gowns and high heels. The Senior Prom, themed “A Midnight Summer’s Dream,” was a night seniors will hold in their hearts forever.

Vice president of the senior class, Sophia Hernandez explained, “Prom took weeks of planning from the class officers under Mrs. Kearns, but it was definitely worth it.” Mrs. Kearns, the senior class moderator, definitely gave the class officers a chance to make the night have its own Class of 2017 flavor. Officers helped pick out centerpieces and tablecloths, while attending food tastings and making the evening playlist. “We couldn’t have asked for a better senior class moderator,” explained Sophia. Everyone agrees that the end result and the smiles on seniors’ faces made all the work worthwhile.

The food was absolutely delicious. Seniors started out the night with an assortment of finger foods before entering the dining hall. From sliders to chicken tenders to pigs-in-a-blanket and so much more, mouths were watering. Once they entered the dining hall, seniors started out with a salad followed by a creamy penne alla vodka, and a delicious entrée of chicken and pulled rib.

Reese Guevarra, senior at IHA, explained that “the food was great but dancing with my best friends was even better!” IHA seniors and their dates had a blast on the dance floor. It was packed all night. With all the music, there was definitely one crowd favorite, “The Sound of the Saints.” Students jammed out to the upbeat song, which has become an unofficial anthem for the graduating class.

All in all, the night was a huge success. “A Midnight Summer’s Dream” is an evening seniors will never forget.
