IHA held its annual fashion show, “Fashions of the Heart”, on Sunday March 13th at the Estate at the Florentine Gardens.

Volunteers from IHA and Bergen Catholic donned sportswear, casual, cocktail, and formal prom attire.  Members of the Fashion Merchandising and Design Club helped assist in event preparations and worked as the hair and makeup team. Cathy Persico and Kipp Yapaola were the event chairs and put in a tremendous amount of work to make the fashion show spectacular.

The basket preview began at 10:30 A.M. There was a breakfast buffet featuring favorites like French toast and pigs in a blanket. During this time, guests were able to decide which baskets they would try their luck on. With prizes like weekend getaways and Tiffany accessories there were some lucky winners. Ana Pascali won the Louis Vuitton tote valued at over $1200 and the Hammer family won the 50/50 raffle. Danielle Garrigan ’06 won the Alumnae raffle.

Lunch was served at noon and guests dined on salad, a chicken and salmon teriyaki dish, assorted cookies, and their own personal brownie sundae. After lunch and the announcement of the raffle winners, the fashion show began.

Models included current IHA students, faculty members, and future IHA students. Bergen Catholic students acted as escorts for the prom attire part of the fashion show. The models were able to borrow their outfits from Lord and Taylor, while the tuxedos came from Biltmore Tuxedos. Touchstone Crystal and Silpada Designs provided accessories.

All of the guests enjoyed the event. “The fashion show was a wonderful day for mothers, daughters, grandparents, teachers, and alumni of the IHA community to come together for the benefit of the school,” explains Mary Mitsinikos P’18. “As a first time attendee, I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful prizes, delicious food, entertaining fashion show, and thorough organization. I look forward to attending again next year and future years.”
