One Direction is back at it! Made in the A.M. is One Direction’s fifth album featuring singles such as “Drag Me Down”, “Perfect”, and even the boys’ newest single, “Infinity”. The album hit number 2 on the iTunes charts, shortly behind Justin Bieber’s album, Purpose, that was also released November 13th.
“I like Made in the A.M. because most of the songs are really catchy and I think the way the songs sound, the lyrics, and everything are [very] different,” states Cassidy Tucker ’19. “The album is more mature than what the boys have done before.”
Although many tracks on the album are favorites such as “Temporary Fix”, “If I Could Fly”, and more, others were thought of as fillers. Fillers are tracks on albums that usually are added in so the album reaches a certain number of songs.
“A few of the songs I am not too fond of, but that’s just my opinion.” Tucker explains.
The new album incorporates some new factors, which are very different from the other albums they have released in the past. “I like that the album includes lots of different styles of music. The boys have branched out more on this one,” describes Grace O’Neill ’19.
Songs like “Olivia” have a more retro style and feeling for some fans. “’Olivia’ is upbeat and reminds me of the Beatles!” O’Neill exclaims.
Not only have they incorporated new rhythm and style, this album also shows just how much their lyrics have matured and improved over the years. “The lyrics seem to be a lot better than their previous albums because it has more meaning.” Nevena Bozovic ’19 expresses. “The lyrics are very sophisticated from One Direction’s other albums.”
Over all, many believe Made in the A.M. is one of One Direction’s best albums. The four boys have really spent a lot of time working hard to finish it for not only themselves, but for their fans. Buy it on iTunes today!
