Just when the world thought Apple products could not get any better, Apple unveiled their new iPhone 6s on September 12th, 2015.
Compared to previous iPhones, one of the most prominent new features on the iPhone 6s is the 3D Touch. The iPhone screen can now detect how much pressure the user puts on the screen, and is being referenced as the “Peek and Pop” feature.
The quality of the iPhone 6s camera has also been highly improved. Compared to the iPhone 6 model, which had an 8-megapixel iSight camera, the iPhone 6s now has a 12 megapixel iSight camera.
Another new feature of the iPhone 6s is that it is being offered in a new color, rose gold. The design of the iPhone has been altered as well. The phones are now made with 700 series aluminum, the strongest ever to be used in an iPhone.
IHA sophomore Marissa Amen, owner of an iPhone 6s, stated, “The size jump from the 5 and the improved camera quality on the 6s are the features I take advantage of most often. Also, the Touch ID unlocking is much faster compared to older versions, which is great.”
Unfortunately, not all people are supporters the iPhone 6s. “I would not want to buy the 6s personally. The phone is almost the size of an iPad and I don’t think there are that many significant improvements in the past few iPhones. I would rather keep my iPhone 5s and spend my money on something else,” said IHA sophomore, Eilis McLaughlin.
