Hard working, dedicated, and packed with enthusiasm are just some words one can use to describe IHA’s new Director of Admissions, Ms. Tara Heinemann. A Rockland County, New York native, Ms. Heinemann attended Providence College in Rhode Island. She received her Bachelors Degree in Marketing and her Masters Degree in School Counseling.
Ms. Heinemann did not always know she wanted to work in the field of admissions. It was when she worked as a tour guide, showing future students around, that she realized admissions was where she belonged.
At Mercy College, Ms. Heinemann worked as an Associate Director of Recruitment until being promoted to the Director of Online Admissions. When asked why she chose to work at IHA, Ms. Heinemann said she has heard that it is a “wonderful place to work,” and she likes the all-girl environment.
Although she has only been here for three months, Ms. Heinemann’s favorite part of IHA is the sense of community. She said that even when she was here over the summer and there were no students, it was still very warm and welcoming.
She is “excited to have [the] opportunity to speak to prospective students and families about IHA and work with them through the process of applying.”
