IHA held its annual fashion show fundraiser at the Florentine Gardens on Sunday, March 15th.
The day began at 10:30 with parents, students, faculty and alumni all in attendance. The attendees entered a room in which there was an auction to put in tickets for baskets that were donated by each homeroom and other school families and businesses. There were also tickets being sold for the 50/50 and for an alumni raffle. A brunch was also included with coffee being offered at that time.

At 12:30, the attendees moved into the main room where they were served lunch. While seated the fashion show began. Students and faculty, and even some cute “future IHA models” strutted their stuff on the runway, modeling all kinds of clothing from sporty fashions to prom-ready looks.
“It was really fun being a model in the IHA fashion show, and it was quite an interesting, new experience. I had never walked a catwalk before, and I was very nervous,” says IHA sophomore, Lydia Anderson-Dearborn. “I am glad that I did it though because it was also a confidence booster – I am a confident person, but I had always thought of fashion shows as for super tall, super thin people wearing clothes that I never thought I could ‘rock’ or look good in.”
After seeing such a great show and supporting the IHA community, many have already vowed to return next year. “It was a great event and I really enjoyed seeing faculty members as well as friends from the class of 2012 again. I’ll be back next year!” IHA 2012 alumna Maria Southard exclaims.
Special thanks to Geralyn Neumann and Kip Yapaola for organizing the event and to Society Men, Society Femme, StudioSuite201, Paula Varsalona, BouBou, Donna Moda, and Silpada for providing the outfits modeled in the show.
