Last week, the IHA ski team won the NJ Interscholastic Ski Racing Association team championships at Mountain Creek South in Vernon, New Jersey, and junior Megan Ahearn won the Race of Champions.
The team championships were a two-day event, with the slalom the first day and the giant slalom the next. IHA placed in the top 10 with Ahearn in first place, sophomore Jillian Morgan in seventh, and sophomore Emily Newman in eighth.

On Sunday on Bear Peak at Mountain Creek, Ahearn followed up their championship win by taking first place in the Race of Champions with a time of 2:29.34 for her slalom/giant slalom, six seconds ahead of the runner-up. Newman also won third place in the Race of Champions.
The IHA ski team has much to celebrate as their season comes to a close. “This was one of those seasons where all of the stars aligned and everything fell together,” said IHA ski coach Rob Dowd. “The last couple of years, we were the bridesmaid, this year we were the bride.”
