The campaign for World Cancer Day uses the tagline “Not beyond us” to highlight that there are feasible solutions to cancer.
Places around the world held fundraisers, press conferences, parties, and documentary viewings. In Texas, there was an event called “20 hours/20 colors” for indoor cyclists where cyclists ride in shifts depending on the color of their cancer ribbon.
Cancer victims shared their story throughout different media outlets such as ABC. Some people, shaved their heads and participated in the #NoHairSelfie on Instagram and Twitter to show their support for those battling the disease.
The World Cancer Day website gives suggestions on different ways to participate in the campaign even though the “official” day has passed. There are always ways to help and support those combatting cancer, whether it be posting a #NoHairSelfie or having a fundraiser.
