A news anchor has worn the same suit every day for the past year–with some exceptions–in order to prove that sexism still exists.

Australian news anchor, Karl Stefanovic, has been wearing the same blue suit every day for the past year with a  few days of exceptions when the suit was at the dry cleaners.

He wanted to make the point that people always focus on what the women news anchors are wearing, but never what the men are wearing. Stefanovic had shared his secret project with only two people–his co-host Lisa Wilkinson and Today member, Sylvia Jefferys.

So did anyone notice? The answer is no; no one noticed.

According to comments made by Stefanovic to The Age, an Australian newspaper, other female morning reporters are often criticized by viewers and others because of what they’re wearing.

Stefanovic says, “I’m judged on my interviews, my appalling sense of humor – on how I do my job, basically. Whereas women are quite often judged on what they’re wearing or how their hair is.”

Stefanovic is planning to wear the suit until the end of the year, and then plans to bring it back to the cleaners. Now that he has proved his point that sexism still is an issue, even in the professional world, maybe people will start to notice more than the clothing on women.
