Move over Duggars! There’s a new family in town! The Michigan couple, Jay and Kateri Schwandt, is expecting a 13th child on May 9, 2015.

The Schwandt family is currently made up of 12 boys.

The Schwandt family is made up of Jay, Kateri, and their 12 boys. They stated that if they were to have a girl, they would be in shock. However, they are only hoping for a healthy baby. In keeping with their traditions, they are not going to find out the baby’s gender until it is born.

The parents would like to see how a girl would mesh with their 12 boys.

“I’ve experienced all the boy stuff, as long as we are having all these children, it would be really neat to experience the other side,” Jay said.

Kateri has spent half of her life being pregnant. Her oldest son is 22 years old and youngest son was just born in 2013.

With 12 boys in the house, the Schwandts wonder whether the 13th will be a girl.

The Schwandt family considers themselves a Roman Catholic family, and like the Duggars, doesn’t believe in the use of birth control. Kateri came from a family of 14 children, so big families weren’t foreign to her.

When asked about having 13 children, Kateri responded, “This is just part of life for us now. It’s always exciting to invite a new life into the world.”
