A popular service event around IHA for the past ten years has been the Special Needs Dance, and this year was no exception.
On October 2, 75 girls from Immaculate Heart Academy traveled to Camp Acorn in Allendale, New Jersey to spend time with some of the campers there. They danced the night away with the children and young adults that attend the camp’s winter and summer program.
A wonderful DJ got everyone up and out of their seats and onto the dance floor. Some of the crowd’s favorite songs were the classics like the Cha-Cha Slide and The Cup Song.
Miss Kearns, IHA’s campus ministry director, said, “The dance was a great opportunity to watch IHA girls do what they do best, go outside of themselves to show enthusiasm, warmth, and love to others. We had a great time dancing and just hanging out with our friends from Camp Acorn.”
If you missed this Special Needs Dance, do not worry, there will be one every month at Camp Acorn, with the next dance scheduled for November 14.
A huge thanks to Camp Acorn for letting IHA be a part of your great program!
